Brother Mine
Written by Miriam Cohen, Hyman Kahler’s sister
My brother Chaim of memories dear
Died in 1944 in his twenty first year
He was kind and gentle, a lovely friend
Who was to know how his life would end?
When the war started, he volunteered
To join 75 squadron, the brave and most feared
On his last mission his plane was shot down
The crew posted missing for over a year
With the war at an end the sad news arrived
That four of the crew had not survived
Chaim was buried in one grave with his three comrades
In Gram churchyard, Jutland, Denmark
Three Christians and one Jew lying together in peace.
